Academic Experience

This is a list of the academic experiences I’ve had. I’ve been lucky enough to get a number of grants as well as have volunteered my time to collaborate with many universities on educational experiences for students.

Academic Teaching Experiences & Projects

Marketing Projects Ryerson University

Toronto, Ontario, Canada    Summer 2021 Semester

Obtained grants for a total of $2800 CAD from a Canadian-funded internships program and partnered with Ryerson University to provide 2 undergraduate students 80 hours each in an applied experiential learning internship.

Multidisciplinary Projects Independent Student

Obtained grant of $1400 CAD from Canadian funded internships program to provide 1 undergraduate student 80 hours in an applied experiential learning internship.

Accounting & Finance Projects George Brown College 

Toronto, Ontario, Canada    Summer 2021 Semester

Obtained grant of $1400 CAD from Canadian funded internships program and partnered with George Brown College to provide 1 undergraduate student 80 hours in an applied experiential learning internship.

Data Analysis Projects Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) 

Calgary, Alberta, Canada   Spring & Summer 2021 Semesters

Obtained grants for a total of  $2800 CAD from a Canadian-funded internships program and partnered with SAIT to provide 1 undergraduate student with 160 hours in an applied experiential learning internship, learning and performing statistical analysis and research. Student Outcomes: 1) Learned to use SPSS to perform multiple types of data analysis, 2) Under my supervision and instruction, performed secondary data analysis and collaborated on writing a research paper, resulting in a position as the second author on a research publication submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication.

Experiential Learning Projects & Internships Sponsor and Mentor Arizona State University

Tempe, Arizona, United States Fall 2020 Semester – Present

Providing experiential learning internship to two Health-oriented bachelors’ students.  Giving feedback to program coordinators on challenges with program style, reporting, and transferability of learned skills to real-world environments, particularly for working in virtual technology development teams.  Mentoring 16 Computer Science seniors across three teams on capstone projects to develop prototypes for three novel educational product concepts I developed as Product Owner/Product Manager. Work includes as time allows various stages of development including the development and launch of MVP, QA, mixed-method user research, analysis, and reporting:

Experiential Learning Internships Sponsor & Mentor St. Lawrence College 

Kingston, Ontario, Canada Spring 2021 Semester

Mentored two Accounting students, providing accounting, bookkeeping, and grant-writing experience using Quickbooks Online and working on AFWERX grant proposals.  Also piloting proposed development of micro-badging for the transference of skills-based on the job learning towards future careers:  www.CreditForSkills.com (coming soon).

Experiential Learning Projects Sponsor & Mentor, New Product Planning Course Rutgers University

New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States Spring 2021 Semester

Mentored a class of 58 students to develop deliverables for product marketing related to multiple products/projects.  Feedback to program coordinator on improvements to course format and stakeholder interactions to better mimic real-world encounters.

Alumni & Associate Researcher with Center for Educational and Instructional Technology Research

  • Project: What We Can Learn From The COVID-19 Pandemic: How Educational Leadership Can Best Support Teachers In Responding To Emergencies To Reduce Negative Impacts on Teacher Wellbeing in the United States.
    • PI.
    • IRB approval received 7/2020. Data collected, pending final analysis and publication.
  • Project: Increasing Doctoral Student Retention: A correlational Analysis of Dissertation Preparedness.
